Microsoft revealed this week a plan to introduce a new version of Skype that will break down language barriers with real-time translation. Skype Translator should be available by the end of the year in beta mode, and could transform communication technology drastically. Skype corporate vice president Gurdeep Pall describes the deep implications of such a ground-breaking innovation, “in education, diplomacy, multilingual families and in business.”
