New Technology Could Turn Current Cars into Self Drivers

Cruise technology on an Audi | Mobile-PC-Medics.comTech startup Cruise has developed a working prototype that would allow you to turn your existing car into a self-driving vehicle. The setup would include a sensor mounted just above the windshield to map the road, actuators in the gas pedals and wheels, and a computer in the trunk to control the whole operation. While there are limitations to the operation (including the cost), the developments by Cruise could force other self-driving car developers such as Google to make improvements of their own.

Apple in Process of Purchasing Beats

Beats Headphones | Mobile-PC-Medics.comApple is close to acquiring headphone maker Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion, with the deal to be completed as soon as next week. It would mark the most expensive purchase in the history of Apple, and also a stark shift in philosophy from the late Steve Jobs, who did not believe in acquisitions of this stature.

Improvements to U.S. Credit Card Technology Coming

The magnetic strip technology is now about 50 years old and far less secure than electronic chips. Security questions surrounding magnetic strips have only grown louder in recent months following Target’s credit card security breach.
