Sales of desktop PCs in Western Europe saw a surge in the first quarter of 2014, due in large part to the end of Microsoft support for computers still using XP. HP, Lenovo and Acer hold the top three spots in terms of market share, though Acer’s share dropped. Worldwide, Lenovo, HP and Dell are the three most popular brands of PCs.
